Tips On Picking A Sauna

Saunas Rule

By now, you have probably heard of the awesome benefits of sauna use, including improved blood flow, helping excrete unwanted toxins, stress relief and overall mood improvement, to name a few.  Frequent sauna usage has even been linked to lower death rates from cardiovascular disease and stroke.

The good news is- you don’t have to have a custom built-in room to have a spa day at home. In fact, there are plenty of great quality, stand alone options that don’t require any complex electrical or plumbing setups (just plug in and relax).

Thinking about incorporating one, but don’t know where to start? Read on for some tips and pointers.

Indoor & Outdoor Options

Figuring out the location of your unit first helps narrow down your options (in a good way). If you hadn’t considered outdoor- there are some awesome looking options available, from barrel to outdoor barn, in tradional steam and infrared (more on this next).

For those tighter indoor spaces- there options available as small as 39” W x 36” D x 73 H”.

Infrared or traditional steam

The two main types of heating are infrared or tradional steam. IR has gained popularity throughout the last few years, mostly due to its ability to better penetrate the pores at lower heat levels (infrared saunas use, you guessed it, infrared light). Traditional steam saunas heat the air first (via a conventional stove for example), then your skin, and eventually your body temperature increases, leading to sweating.

Looking for both? You’re in luck, there are even hybrid versions available!

Size

From 1 to 6 person options, we’ve got you covered.
